Desde Italia, y en concreto desde la VIEW Conference de Torino donde cada año se habla de videojuegos, cine en 2D y 3D, realidad aumentada, VFX, tecnicas interactivas y muchos otros temas relacionados con las nuevas tecnologías aplicadas al mundo del ocio, se han puesto en contacto con nosotros para que hablemos un poco de ellos. Y, ¿porqué no?


La VIEW Conference ( es un evento organizado cada año en Torino sobre videojuegos, cinema 2D y 3D, augmented reality, VFX, tecnicas interactivas, medical imaging, automotive, architecture design y mucho más.
En la edición de este año, la «13th International Computer Graphics Conference» a celebrar entre el 16 y el 19 de Octubre en la localidad del norte de Italia, se ha confirmado la presencia de Jason Smith, el supervisor de los efectos visuales de la película «Los Vengadores» de Industrial Light and Magic (ILM).

The VIEW is Italy’s largest computer graphics conference. Now in its lucky 13th year, the conference hosts prominent people in animation, visual effects, game development, architecture, design, and other areas of computer graphics in beautiful Torino, Italy where they share experiences, ideas, and knowledge with each other and with the professionals and students who attend the presentations and workshops.
The 2012 VIEW Conference also features award-winning sound designer and animated film director Gary Rydstrom from Skywalker Sound, writer/director Eric Darnell from PDI/DreamWorks who directed the Madagascar trilogy, television director and winner of the Directors Guild of America award Dan

Jason Smith, Visual Effects Associate Supervisor ILM, will discuss The Avenger’s, and many others.
As a visual effects supervisor at ILM, Smith is responsible for overseeing digital effects for feature films, with an emphasis on digital creatures. Some of his notable projects include Rango, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest, Transformers and most recently the super hero blockbuster The Avengers. He is also a member of ILM’s technology advisory group.  Smith is a graduate of Brigham Young University’s Computer Science Program, with a minor in Visual Arts.  While earning his degree, he studied traditional prosthetic makeup effects, and produced makeup effects for university productions.  Prior to working at ILM, he was a software engineer at Saffire, Inc. Smith joined ILM in 2001 as a technical assistant.
The Visual Effects of The Avengers
The Avengers is the ultimate comic-book film, bringing together characters such as Iron Man, Thor, Black Widow, Captain America, Hawkeye and a new Hulk. Jason Smith will discuss the creation of the Hulk character, including incorporating Mark Ruffalo into the design and performance of the Hulk as well as the steps taken in asset development as far as data acquisition, model, texture, rigging and rendering Hulk for shots. He will discuss the creation of the Shield Helicarrier and fleet assets. In addition, he’ll cover building a new Iron Man and a digital New York City for the Avengers to protect.
