Los premios dedicados a las películas de animación, los Annie Awards, cada año reciben mayor atención mediática. Es lógico, puesto que las películas de este género, antaño dirigidas solamente al público infantil, han crecido en audiencia, en calidad, en relevancia y en premios ganados. Incluso los Óscars han tenido que crear una categoría específica para ellas y alguna se ha colado entre las nominadas a Mejor Película.
La cuadragésimo primera edición de los Annie Awards, los premios del cine de animación que entrega la International Animated Film Society, ha desvelado los finalistas en las treinta categorías a concurso, incluyendo películas, series de televisión, anuncios de televisión, cortos, videojuegos, proyectos académicos y varios premios honoríficos.
Los ganadores de este galardón, que originalmente se creó para premiar a solamente producciones pertenecientes al campo de la animación, se dieron a conocer por The International Animated Film Society, ASIFA-Hollywood, el primer día de Febrero del 2014 en el UCLA’s Royce Hall de Los Angeles, en California, como suele ser habitual.
