Se han hecho públicos los nominados a los Origins Awards 2011, la trigésimo séptima edición de los premios que otorga la Academy of Adventure Gaming Arts and Design y considerados los Oscars de los juegos.
En la pasada edición de los Origin Awards, los premios de la Academy of Adventure Gaming Arts and Design, los sorprendentes triunfadores fueron el juego de rol de ciencia-ficción de Catalyst Game Labs “Eclipse Phase” y la reedición del clásico “Space Hulk” de Games Workshop, superando a los favoritos de todas las encuestas que eran el “A Song of Ice And Fire” de Green Ronin Publishing y “Smallworld”. Estos resultados no hicieron más que constatar un hecho habitual: los Origins siempre vienen con sorpresa.
En el 2009, el juego de rol de Luke Crane y David Petersen “Mouse Guard Roleplaying Game”, el juego de tablero “Pandemic” y el de cartas “Dominion” fueron los ganadores más destacados aunque, salvo el juego de cartas de Donald X. Vaccarino, no eran los favoritos. Hace tres años el juego de tablero de “Starcraft” de Fantasy Flight Games y el juego de rol “Aces & Eights” se impusieron a “CthulhuTech” y el primer Adventure Path de Paizo Publishing “Rise of the Runelords”. Y hace cuatro años arrasaron los productos de Paizo Publishing que Wizards of the Coast acababa de finiquitar. Con estos precedentes, ¿quienes serán los triunfadores del 2011?
